From Lisbon starts the discovery of the marvels of Portugal by visiting the most scenic and historical parts of the country. Moving from the South to the North, we shall explore the birthplace of Portugal, ancient castles, historical towns and ruins from Roman times abound. Not to mention colorful villages, religious shrines, world heritage sites, going through dramatic landscapes: breathtaking ocean views, river panoramas, emerald fields, famous vineyards and verdant mountains.

1st Day

Overnight flight to Lisbon.

2nd Day

Arrive in Lisbon.
Arrival transfer from airport to your hotel in Lisbon. Welcome dinner at the hotel and two nights accommodation in Lisbon in a four stars hotel well located, near to the city's attractions.

3rd Day

Unveiling Lisbon's Charm

Breakfast at the hotel.
The day starts visiting the quaint Alfama, a former Moorish quarter, with its narrow and twisting streets, cobblestone alleys and small whitewashed houses. Moving to the historical Belém district, known for its renowned role in the Era of the Discoveries, where we will see the Tower of Belém, monument of the discoveries and the unique Manueline architecture of Jerónimos Monastery. Afternoon at leisure.

4th Day

Lisbon - Óbidos - Fátima - Coimbra

Breakfast at the hotel.
This morning's departure from Lisbon starts with a scenic drive north to Óbidos, an enchanting medieval walled village with small houses. Then on to Nazaré, a picturesque fishing village and Batalha, a spectacular 14th century Gothic-style limestone monastery - one of the greatest examples of the Manueline style of architecture. Moving to Fátima, a world-famous pilgrimage center after appreciating it's beauty will proceed north to the old university town of Coimbra. One night accommodation and dinner in a modern, four stars hotel located in the center of the city, making it possible to taste the excellence of local cuisine.

5th Day

Coimbra-Porto
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning tour spent to discover Coimbra, known to be one of the oldest University City in Europe. Starting from Praça do Comercio, the town's old market place, now one of the most impressive squares in Portugal. Proceeding the tour by visiting the old university, located on the highest point of the upper town, partly rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries. Along with the sumptuous Old Library whose walls and ceilings are decorated with paintinigs by Antonio Simões Ribeiro.
We shall proceed to Oporto by Buçaco forest route.
Two nights accommodation in Oporto in a four stars hotel, located a few minutes walking to the main attractions of the city.

6th Day

Oporto
Breakfast at the hotel.
After enjoying Oporto by visiting the Stock Exchange Palace famous for its Arab Hall, the Cathedral and a Port Wine Cellar for a delightful wine tasting. Free afternoon to explore the old part of town, including the recently restored river-front area, Ribeira.

7th Day

Oporto - Viseu
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure from Oporto through a landscape speckled with granite houses. We shall pass through the vineyards of the Douro region admiring the suggestive panorama until the next stop: Amarante and Vila Real for a visit to the Mateus Manor House. Moving on to Lamego for a short visit then proceed to Viseu, city of warriors and painters.
One night accommodation with dinner included in a four stars hotel, located in the center of town.

8th Day

Viseu - Belmonte - Évora
Breatkfast at the hotel.
Morning departure to Évora, via the Estrela Mountain route, stopping at the interesting little town of Belmonte, dominated by a 13th century castle that was transformed into a fortified manor house in the 15th century. Continue to the pretty town of Castelo de Vide, with its Roman origin and its sizeable Jewish presence in the middle ages. Arrive in Évora for a one night accommodation plus dinner in a four stars hotel located in the historical centre.

9th Day

Évora - Tavira
Morning city sightseeing, discovering the World Heritage town by visiting Giraldo Square St. Francis Church with its beautiful but eerie Chapel of Bones, the Cathedral in Gothic style dating from the XII and XIII centuries and the Diana Roman temple. In the afternoon, departure towards the Algarve, and two nights accommodation in an elegant, four stars hotel situated in the centre of Tavira.

10th Day

Tavira
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day reserved for leisure time to enjoy Tavira and its environs. There's a possibility to take an optional tour to visit this historic and picturesque town or head to the nearby beaches.

11th Day

Tavira - Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure from Tavira to Lisbon, via Setúbal route, a historic fishing port with an attractive old town. We shall also make a stop at the castle town of Sesimbra. Passing through the Arrabida hills, a beautiful protected area covered with rich Mediterranean vegetation that offers beautiful landscapes.
After we cross the 25 de Abril bridge, we'll stay in Lisbon for one night, in a four stars hotel situated in the city centre, near to many restaurants, pubs and museums.

12th Day

Departure from Lisbon.
Breakfast at the hotel. Time for a final goodbye to new-found friends, your transfer to the airport witll be wating outside the hotel. We hope you make a safe journey home.

Enjoy a morning panoramic tour, admiring the historical Plaza Mayor, the most important architectural and historical landmark in Madrid, classically decorated Neptune and Cibeles Fountains, the Plaza de España with its Don Quixote statue.
Rest of the day at leisure, exploring the city and walking around its boulevards.

4th Day

Madrid - Toledo - Granada
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning departure from Madrid to Toledo, the ancient capital of Castile, known as the "city of the three cultures". A walking tour with your guide exploring the World Heritage Site through the narrow cobblestone streets, visiting the impressive cathedral, as well as, a former synagogue and one of the masterpieces by the famous painter El Greco. After lunch, moving on to Granada for dinner and overnight at a four stars hotel, perfectly located in the cultural and business part of the city.

5th Day

Granada - Costa del Sol
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning tour of one of the major historical cities in Spain, Granada, we shall visit the only surviving medieval Arab Palace in the world, the Alhambra, decorated with beautiful mosaics and refreshing fountains. Then we shall see the Genera Life, the sultans' Summer Gardens displaying the old irrigation techniques and offering a panoramic view of the Moorish Albayzin. In the afternoon proceed to Costa del Sol for two nights at a four stars hotel, near the beach and close to the main Andalusian cities.

The entire day at leisure to enjoy one of Europe's most popular playgrounds. It's possible to relax on the beach, otherwise, take a tour to the picturesque village of Mijas overlooking the Mediterranean, or to the exotic port of Tangiers in Northern Morocco.

7th Day

Costa del Sol - Seville
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning departure from Costa del Sol to Seville, stopping in Ronda for a tour of this ancient walled town and part of the famed "White Village" area. Continue on to Seville, a renowned city where we shall spend the next two days in a four stars hotel, ideally located for sightseeing, near one of the city's main shopping areas and just five minutes from the beautiful historic center of the Andalusian capital.

8th Day

The tour will start by visiting Seville's famous cathedral, as well as, the Giralda bell tower, a former minaret. We shall walking around the narrow streets of Santa Cruz, the old Jewish Quarter, where whitewashed houses line narrow cobblestone alleys, refreshing fountains decorate intimate plazas and university students crowd the cafes and bars.
Afternoon will be reserved for leisure time. In the evening, we are going to see a captivating Flamenco show.

9th Day

Seville - Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning departure from Seville to Lisbon, going through Jabugo, a little village in the province of Huelva known worldwide for its famous jamon iberico pata-negra and the 'Alentejo' Region, land of wheat fields, cork oak forests, wildflowers meadows and tiny white-washed villages.
Arrive in Lisbon, Portugal's capital, and our city for the next three nights, accommodation in a four stars hotel located a few minutes' walk from the main attractions of the city.

10th Day

Lisbon - Fatima - Salamanca
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning departure to Fatima and a visit to the world-famous pilgrimage site. Continue through the picturesque countryside and Estrela Mountains, crossing the Spanish line soon after arriving in Salamanca, for an orientation tour of the Plaza Mayor. Accommodations for one night plus dinner at a four stars hotel close to the historical center of the city.

13th Day

Salamanca - Madrid

Morning departure from Salamanca to Madrid, via Avila and Segovia route, for one night accommodation in a four stars hotel, well located in the city center to enjoy the Madrid's famous nightlife.

Northern Wine Route

A journey to discover the beauties from the North of Portugal, including the amazing Douro Valley and its famous "wine routes". Designated a UNESCO World Heritage, the Douro Valley is the oldest demarcated wine region in the world with wine terraces sloping steeply down towards the Douro River. Land of the renowned "port wine" and "vinho verde", its an authentic paradise where small vilages of white washed houses with terracota roofs are spaced out through the valley in enviably peaceful settings surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. A real wonders of nature to unveil delighting all five sense.
1st Day

Arrival to Lisbon.
Meet your local guide at the airport who'll be assisting you.
Transfer to a four star hotel for one night accomodation. In the afternoon we are going to explore Lisbon walking around from Liberdade Avenue until the business center of the city, in the heart of Baixa area and on to the bohemian district of Chiado, enjoying the artistic atmosphere and seeing its fabulous shops. We shall finish our tour in the Belém monumental area for a visit of Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower and back via Monsanto Park.
Leisure time assigned for dinner.

2nd Day

Coimbra - Buçaco - Santa Combra Dão - Viseu
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure from Lisbon by the northern highway towards Coimbra, located in the banks of the Mondego River is the famous for having one of Europe's oldest university. We shall visit the Old Cathedral, perhaps the nicest and most important monument of Romanic architecture in Portugal, as well as the University complex. Our next two stops, we shall be visiting a wine cellar in Buçaco and the other in Santa Combra Dão. After visiting the wine cellars, we shall proceed towards Viseu where we shall be spendind the night.

3rd Day

Viseu - Castro D'Aire - Lamego - Régua
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Castro D'Aire and along the way we shall stop at Lamego for a panoramic visit that will include visiting a 12th century Cathedral. Then we'll move to the heart of the Port wine area to have a wine tasting in a wine cellar located along the southern bank of the Douro River. We will finish the day arriving in Régua and two nights accommodation in a four stars hotel.

4th Day

Régua - Vale do Mendiz
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive towards Vale do Mendiz area for a wine tours, we are going to visit several wine farms and manor houses for wine tasting, admire the astonishing vineyards along the way. Return to Régua and leisure time assigned.

5th Day

Régua - Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Régua to Porto by boat, it's an unforgettable cruise on the Douro River with lunch included. Upon arrival a transfer will be waiting and take the group to a four stars hotel for three nights accommodation. Leisure time assigned to explore the city.

6th Day

Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. Porto sightseeing tour, walking around the city center whilst admiring the main attractions, such as, the Sé Cathedral, São Francisco Church and Bolsa Palace. Then continue to Vila Nova de Gaia for a wine tasting visit in one of Porto's famous wine cellars.
After the tour the group will have leisure time.
Tonight's dinner will be at a typical restaurant at the Ribeira area.

7th Day

Oporto - Minho - Vila do Conde - Viana do Castelo - Barcelos - Braga - Guimarães - Oporto
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a tour in the Minho district; a region known for the famous Vinho Verde production, not to mention it's heritage.
The tour starts at Vila do Conde and Viana do Castelo, here we shall visit the historic center, the fabulous 17th century manor houses and have a delightful moment in a wine farm for a wine tasting. Continue towards Braga via Barcelos, upon arrival we'll have a tour around the city passing by the Cathedral and its historic center. Last stop of the tour will be Guimarães, birthplace of the first Portuguese king, followed by city tour that includes the Dukes of Bragança Palace.
Return to Oporto.

8th Day

Porto
Breakfast at the hotel.Transfer to Porto airport with a guide,we wish you a safe flight home.

Upon arrival at the Lisbon Airport, a meet and greet guide will be waiting to assist you followed by a transfer to your hotel.

2nd Day

Lisbon- Cascais - Cabo da Roca - Sintra
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning spent discovering Lisbon; we are going to see the city center, including Commerce Square and the Cathedral. Moving to Belém District, the western side of town for a visit to the Jerónimos Monastery, built to commemorate the discovery of the route to India, and to the Belém Tower. Then we'll proceed along the coastal road towards Cascais for lunch to taste the freshest fish that can be cooked in several ways, seafood and shellfish. After lunch we'll pass by Cabo da Roca and continue to Sintra, a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we'll visit the Royal Palace and taste a regional pastry queijadas. Return to the hotel by the end of the afternoon.

3rd Day

Lisbon - Coimbra - Mealhada - Aveiro - Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. Moving north towards Coimbra, a city full of enchantments and also known for having the second oldest University in the world, built in 1292. Upon arrival we'll walk around the city center passing by the old cathedral and the university complex. Then we'll proceed to Mealhada to have lunch, delighting the palate with a roasted suckling pig and the famous Bairrada wines. After lunch the tour shall continue to Aveiro, famous for its fish dishes and for a special sweet, made of sugar and egg yolk called Doces de Ovos, we'll make a short stop for tea time and taste this famous pastry. Arrive in Porto for three nights accommodation in a four stars hotel.

4th Day

Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we're going to discover Porto, walking around the city centre and visiting the Cathedral, St. Francis church and Bolsa Palace. Then crossing the river to Vila Nova de Gaia, where we'll be having a wine tasting in one of the Port wine cellars. Lunch in one of the typical restaurants at the Ribeira Quarter to taste one of the many dishes of marvellous local gastronomy, like bacalhau, tripas and francesinhas, obviously matched with a good glass of wine.
Rest of the afternoon at leisure.

5th Day

Porto - Viana do Castelo - Ponte de Lima - Braga - Guimarães - Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Porto for a tour in the Minho district, known for the richness of its gastronomy which can be considered as one of the main pillars of the Portuguese cuisine.
Driving north to Barcelos, we are going to make a short stop to visit its pottery exhibition and continuing towards Viana do Castelo where we'll admire the wonderful view of the Lima river on top of the Santa Luzia Hill. We'll also visit the city center and the historical part of town, including a charming 17th century manor houses. Before leaving this beautiful town, we shall relax and have lunch at a local restaurant to taste some typical dishes ranging from fish to meat, like marinated or smoked shad, lamper eel, pork carrés (rojões), roasted kidney and other specialities. Well accompanied by the famous Vinho Verde, a special kind of wine grown in this district, called Verde (green) due to the special planting style in which vines are planted in treilage or up the trees avoiding much sun directly hitting the grapes.This technique ensures that grapes never mature too much and the final result is a light fruited wine with some acidity and natural gas, ideal to go with fish or seafood.
After lunch the tour will continue towards Braga, by Ponte de Lima route,for a short visit to the historic center of the city including its cathedral. Last stop of the tour will be Guimarães, birthplace of the first Portuguese king, followed by city tour that will pass by the Dukes de Bragança Palace. Return to Porto.

6th Day

Porto - Amarante - Vila Real - Régua - Lamego - Viseu
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Porto towards Amarante, famous for its trout dishes, duck's rice and kidney recipes, as well as, its conventual sweets. Proceeding to Vila Real, passing through the amazing vineyards, we're going to stop for lunch to savour one of traditional recipes like roasted pork kneee, roasted kidney with rice, smoked ham steak accompanied by the best wines grown in the area. Ending the meal with a mouthwatering dessert and a glass of vintage port. Continueing to Lamego for a short visit and on the Viseu in the heart of the Dão wine area, here we'll visit the historical centre of the city and the Grão Vasco Museum to admire paintings of Portuguese authors from 15th to 16th century, along with important Flemish painters.
One night accommodation at four stars hotel in Viseu.

7th Day

Viseu - Seia - Covilhã; - Castelo Branco - Castelo de Vide
Breakfast at the hotel. We'll depart from Viseu towards Seia and Covilhã, located in the Natural Park of the Estrela Mountain, famous for its marvellous landscapes, along with sheep's cheese of the area (queijo da serra). We'll have lunch at Covilhã to taste local specialities like roasted kidney, meat sausages of various types, patridge, hare and the above mentioned cheese. Then proceed to Castelo Branco for a visit to the Bishop's Palace Gardens, slowly making our way to Castelo de Vide, in the Alentejo region. Where we'll visit the medieval Synagogue and the Gothic Quarter (old Jewish quarter). We'll be spending the night here at a four star hotel.

8th Day

Castelo de Vide - Marvão - Estremoz - Évora
Breakfast at the hotel. Moving south, inside the Alentejo region, we're going to stop in Évora, passing by Marvão, a medieval town built within the Castle located on the top of an enornous rock. Continue towards Portalegre for a panoramic visiting passing by Estremoz until we finally arrive in Évora, a little town declared World Heritage Sity by UNESCO. We shall visit its historic centre, admiring the Geraldo Square, St. Francis Church with its macabre Bones Chapel and the Roman Temple.
Alentejo can be considered as a pillar of the Portuguese gastronomy for its creativity for mixing meat and fish. During the lunch in Évora we can taste typical delicacies like the famous Carne de Porco à Alentejana, a sort of fried pork carrés with clams and herb sauce, Cação Soup, lamb cooked in various ways (roasted, stewed etc.), hare with beans and various mouthwatering conventual sweets, all served with wine from one of the best wine region in Portugal.
Leisure time assigned for the afternoon, take this opportunity to explore and enjoy the town. We'll be spending the night in a four stars hotel in Évora.

9th Day

Évora - Montemor o Novo - Setúbal - Arrábida - Azeitão - Sesimbra - Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Évora towards Montemor o Novo and Setúbal, in the mouth of the Sado River, then proceeding to Arrábida, a beautiful protected area covered with a rich Mediterranean vegetation that offers beautiful landscapes. Until our arrival in Azeitão, center of another famous wine region, as well as, for its excellent sheep's cheese.
After a short visit in Azeitão, we'll stop in Sesimbra for lunch to taste a fine tune fish steak or some seafood accompanied by Azeitão wine and its delicious cheese.
Return to Lisbon by mid-afternoon and one night accommodation in a four stars hotel.
Special farewell dinner.

10th Day

Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Lisbon Airport with a guide, we wish you a safe flight home.
